About

Acupuncture is one branch of Chinese Medicine which uses needles to stimulate points along channels or meridians identified on the body.

What happens during an acupuncture treatment?

Fine, single-use, disposable, stainless steel needles are inserted into specific acu-points along the meridians.  This helps to stimulate flow of energy, or qi, along those pathways so that balance can be restored and the body can heal itself.   It can also relieve muscle tension, stimulate the release of endorphins, promote parasympathetic nervous response (rest and digest) and reduce inflammation.

It is said that Chinese Medicine is based on “fluid physiology” which is why acupuncture is so effective-  it helps to promote and regulate the transportation and transformation of fluids throughout the body.
